TOCCI constructed interconnected buildings spanning 32,000 sf of Hampshire College’s campus for the Yiddish Book Center.
The Yiddish Book Center now hosts the largest collection of Jewish cultural artifacts and texts in the United States. Scope included the reconfiguration and renovation of 18,000 sf in existing space and a 4,000 sf curtain wall addition.
Eastern European elements were incorporated with wooden beams and peaked rooflines. The main building is located within an apple orchard and hosts several cultural events.
The Yiddish Book Center won the National Award for Museum and Library Services in 2014.
