Working to Improve Lives

TOCCI desires to improve the lives of vulnerable people. Our goal is to help build better futures by developing life skills and aiding character formation. We focus our efforts on global and local pressing issues, supporting organizations with unique missions that bring about real change.

TOCCI offers our team opportunities to volunteer, give gifts, or donate to non-profits.

Every year our team heads to Cradles to Crayons’ Giving Factory in Newton to sort and package clothing, toys and books for children in need.

During the AIDS crisis we joined World Vision volunteer events to pack caregiver kits for health paraprofessionals who traveled on foot and bicycle to treat those suffering alone.

Each holiday season we seek out charities that fit our values and donate in honor of our clients instead of giving corporate gifts.

Our organization of choice last year was Mision de Caridad, a non-profit in Mexico providing education, life skills, nutritious food, clean water, and more to migrants and refugees on the Mexico side of the US border.

The mission helps vulnerable women and children create safe and sustainable lives without the dangers and uncertainties of crossing the border.

Partnership is a huge part of TOCCI’s giving. Last year we teamed up with Nardone Electric to supply Gifts of Hope to youths in detention facilities, buying hats, gloves, and games to brighten the holiday season. Later that year we partnered with Woburn’s Council for Social Concerns‘ weekend backpack program, donating food for local children struggling with food insecurity when school is not in session.

“Our charitable giving grows out of our mission to support non-profits doing unique work to improve the lives of people”

Lila Tocci , Director of Company LIfe

These non-profits include Straight-Ahead Ministries, which offers care to court-involved youth, and Build-a-Bed, a project which builds beds for children in need. TOCCI encourages the whole team to get involved— Lila noted that the opportunities have, “opened our eyes to the challenges others face, both near and far,” and called witnessing their generosity first-hand “very rewarding.”

As owners of TOCCI, John and Lila have a personal commitment to serve others. A member of Boston Trinity Academy’s Board of Trustees, John addressed students at last year’s Convocation, encouraging them to pursue service opportunities and academic rigors without taking shortcuts that will cheat them in the long run.

TOCCI strives to enact change, donating time and energy as well as funds – directing our efforts to where they are most needed. When deciding between short-term convenience or long-term change, TOCCI believes that “doing good is always the right choice.”
